About

Built by performers, for the stage.

Looper Studio started as a personal frustration. We were performing live and kept running into the same wall — loop pedals have no song structure, and DAWs were never built for the stage.

Why it exists

Something in the middle

We wanted the speed of a pedal and the structure of a DAW, without the trade-offs of either. So we built the thing that sits between them.

Loop pedals

Fast and hands-free, but structurally flat. There's no verse, no chorus, no bridge — just layers stacked on a single loop.

Looper Studio

Plan a song as sections on a timeline, then record, loop, and layer through it live and hands-free. The middle ground.

DAWs

Built for structure and editing — but they want your eyes and hands at the exact moment you need to be present with the room.

Design your performance. Then go play it.

How we build

The principles behind it

Design, then perform

Lay out intro, verse, chorus, and bridge in the Arrangement View. Place where you record live and where loops play back. Then go play it.

Hands-free on stage

Play from the timeline you built. Drive transport, Loop Regions, your setlist and Panic from a footswitch or any MIDI controller, so your hands stay on your instrument.

Built in public

Looper Studio is in active development. We ship updates regularly and talk openly about what's landing next on the blog and changelog.

Looper Studio runs structured live looping on macOS, Windows and Linux, with iPad coming soon. It hosts your AU and VST3 plugins in the signal chain, keeps every pass as a non-destructive take, syncs the room over 24 PPQ MIDI clock, and bounces your finished work to WAV, AIFF, or FLAC. The foundation is here today, and it's actively developed.

Follow the blog for release announcements, or check the changelog for the latest updates.
